Japanese artist Riusuke Fukahori has perfected a one-of-a-kind technique creating deceptively three-dimensional paintings of goldfish by pouring layers of resin into a container. His hyper-realistic sculptures utilize angles and perspectives to create visual illusions.

Fukahori’s sensational work is the result of a meticulous, painstaking process. To create these layered paintings, he first paints a small portion of the fish on top of a layer of resin. Fukahori then pours another resin layer and repeats the process to completion. Many have tried to imitate his style, but he remains the sensei of 3D goldfish painting art.
