Make sure these points are addressed in your contracts with photographers and videographers.

  1. The date of the wedding, the arrival time, and the full address of the location.
  2. The number of hours of photography or videography including in the fee.
  3. The deposit amount and the date the balance is due; the cancellation policy; the rate for overtime.
  4. The assistant(s), if there is one, and the hours he will work.
  5. The fee, and a detailed list of everything it includes. There should also be a price list for extra prints, albums, copies of the DVD, and the likes.
  6. For photography, the format or formats to be used. It should also include the percentage of black and white versus colour.
  7. What the photographer or videographer will bring or provide.
  8. For videography, the number of hours of raw footage he’ll shoot and the length of the edited video.
  9. What the photographer or videographer will wear to the wedding.
  10. The backup plan in case the named photographer or videographer falls ill can can’t make the wedding.
